About Mario Bellini
Mario Bellini (1935 – 2025) was an internationally acclaimed Italian architect and designer, renowned for his profound influence on modern furniture and product design. Born in Milan, he graduated in architecture from the Polytechnic University of Milan and went on to collaborate with iconic brands such as B&B Italia, Cassina, Vitra, and Olivetti.
His most celebrated creation, the Camaleonda Sofa (1970), revolutionized modular seating with its bold form and flexibility, becoming a timeless symbol of Italian design.
Throughout his illustrious career, Bellini received eight Compasso d’Oro awards, and many of his works are part of the permanent collection at the Museum of Modern Art (MoMA) in New York. His designs continue to embody the perfect balance of architectural rigor and human warmth—hallmarks of true Italian craftsmanship.
